It’s approaching the time of year when we hold our annual Big Scrub Rainforest Day.
Last year, due to covid, the event was staged online. This year – the event’s 23rd consecutive year – we’re planning to deliver a small, multi-site program face to face, between October 14 and 17. But once again covid has interfered with our plans and we may have to defer the event.
The current uncertainty regarding lockdown changes means that it’s possible, but remains uncertain, that we can hold the event as scheduled. November and February are being held as alternative dates if we decide to defer, but it’s too early to know for sure. Until we can announce our full program with confidence, please save the dates.
We want our friends and members to know that we’re working to have a program of small, covid-safe events ready to go when the date can be confirmed. We will offer first access to the events to our members. If you’re not a member of Big Scrub Landcare, it’s free to join via this link.
Big Scrub Rainforest Day was already due to return to it’s small, multi-site format, rather than our large event at Rocky Creek Dam, in 2021. This format should prove suitable for relaxed covid restrictions, so we’re hopeful the event can still go ahead. We’re planning to stage around 25 small, covid-safe events, like nursery workshops, science in the pub, guided walks and tree plantings.
